Data Retention, Deletion, and Export Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
This policy summarizes how account data can be exported or deleted and what limited records may be preserved for security, billing, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Account export
Signed-in users can export support-safe account data from the app. Exports may include account details, subscription summaries, billing event metadata, and audit events. Exports do not include password hashes, raw provider payloads, session tokens, reset tokens, verification tokens, cookies, or secrets.
Account deletion
Signed-in users can request deletion from the app. Deletion requires confirmation using the account email or the phrase required by the app. When deletion succeeds, qscanner.io revokes sessions, clears the auth cookie, and removes the user account from active account records.
Records we may preserve
After deletion, qscanner.io may preserve limited support-safe records when needed for security, billing, tax, legal, audit, abuse-prevention, dispute, backup, or service-integrity purposes. Preserved records may include hashed email evidence, audit ids, request ids, billing event ids, provider ids, timestamps, and support-safe metadata.
Backups and logs
Deleted information may remain in encrypted backups, logs, or provider systems until those systems rotate, expire, or are overwritten. We do not use backup copies to restore deleted accounts except when required for security, legal, disaster recovery, or service-integrity reasons.
Support and provider records
Billing providers, email providers, hosting providers, and support tools may retain their own records under their own policies. We use provider records to reconcile subscriptions, investigate disputes, recover failed payments, and satisfy legal or accounting obligations.
Requests
Data export or deletion questions can be sent to support@qscanner.io.
